I think "haiga" is haiku in the realm of paintings.
Traditionally, the beginning of haiga is the illustration added to haiku by haiku lovers.
However haiga - painted with simple touches - has the unique taste that we can enjoy even without haiku.

In 1984, she studied literature alongside her studies at Kyoto Women's University and became a disciple of Atago Midori Akira of the "Shin Haiga-sha" group.
She obtained her teaching license in 1988 and her professional painting license in 1993.
Since 1995, she has been teaching theatrical painting at community centers.
She is also challenging the possibilities of new forms of haiga, such as creating illustrated versions of Japanese classical literature like "The Tale of Genji" and "Hyakunin Isshu." Currently, she presides over the haiga group "Midori no Kai."
